This is the easiest and most popular route.
- Take the Murree Expressway from Islamabad towards Murree.
- From Murree, follow the road towards Nathia Gali and Abbottabad.
- Khaira Gali is about 12 km beyond Murree along this road.
The drive takes about one and a half hours in normal traffic, which makes Khaira Gali perfect for a weekend escape.
From Lahore
- Take the M-2 Motorway from Lahore to Islamabad.
- From Islamabad, follow the Murree Expressway and then the Murree to Nathia Gali road as above.
Plan for the motorway drive to Islamabad plus about one and a half hours from Islamabad to Khaira Gali. Many families from Lahore break the journey with a stop in Islamabad.
From Peshawar
You have two options:
- Via Islamabad: take the M-1 Motorway to Islamabad, then follow the Islamabad route above.
- Via Abbottabad: take the Hazara Motorway towards Abbottabad, then drive up through Nathia Gali towards Murree. Khaira Gali comes before you reach Murree.
